A soul painting reflects an individual's essence; it captures the very best we have to offer in colours. It's so much more than just a decoration for your home.

Miguel Penate

Sales Manager & Lead Project Manager

Miguel is the Sales Manager and Lead Project Manager at Soul Painters, a trusted Vancouver painting company serving Greater Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. With over a decade of hands-on experience, he brings a calm, capable presence to every job, balancing scope, schedule, and details so your project feels smooth from start to finish.

He’s often the first point of contact clients remember, because he makes working with Vancouver painters feel organized, clear, and genuinely enjoyable. Miguel leads planning for interior painting and exterior painting, and coordinates both residential painting and commercial painting projects with a practical, solutions-first approach, so timelines stay realistic, expectations are aligned early, and questions get answered quickly.

Miguel is especially strong on projects where coordination matters: condo painting, strata painting, common areas, and busy commercial spaces where access, scheduling, and building rules need careful management. From walkthrough to final touch-ups, he keeps the work plan on track, communicates clearly with site contacts and property managers, and helps ensure a clean, professional finish, without unnecessary disruption.

What Miguel focuses on (so you don’t have to)

  • Translating your goals into a clear scope of work — defining what’s included, what to expect, and how we’ll sequence the job so it stays smooth and predictable.

  • Helping you choose finishes, sheen, and colors — practical guidance for interior painting and exterior painting, plus what holds up best in high-traffic areas and shared spaces.

  • Planning a timeline that makes sense — coordinating prep, coats, drying time, and touch-ups so the schedule is realistic (and easy to live/work around).

  • Coordinating logistics and access — elevator bookings, strata rules, site contact handoffs, parking/loading, business-hour constraints, and clean daily wrap-ups. This is especially helpful on condo painting and strata painting projects.

  • Keeping communication simple, fast, and consistent — quick answers, clear updates, and a steady point of contact from first walkthrough to final walkthrough.

  • Keeping quality and details tight — sharp cut lines, thorough prep, and final checks so your project looks polished, whether it’s residential painting or commercial painting.

Miguel is based in Mount Pleasant, Vancouver, with his wife Vanessa and their best buddy, Rusty. When he’s not managing projects, you can usually find him running the seawall, biking from brewery to brewery, or catching a comedy show, because working hard is important, but it’s best to laugh along the way.

Quote he’s currently contemplating:
“The elevator to success is out of order. You’ll have to use the stairs… one step at a time.” — Joe Girard

The Paint Warrior

Off the job site, he swaps the “paint warrior” gear for running shoes and a bike helmet. You’ll usually find him charging the seawall, cruising from brewery to brewery, or posted up at a comedy show, because the best workdays end with a little adventure (and a lot of laughs).

That same energy shows up on every project. He brings a steady hand, a sharp eye for detail, and the kind of calm confidence that keeps things moving smoothly from start to finish. Whether it’s a full refresh or a smaller touch-up, he treats every space like it deserves top-tier care.

He’s the person you want on site when the details matter, clean lines, consistent coverage, and a finish that looks great in every kind of light. If something needs extra attention, he doesn’t rush it. He’s all about doing it right the first time, with results that hold up.

Clients appreciate his friendly, down-to-earth approach and how easy he is to communicate with. He’s the type to show up on time, keep the space respectful and tidy, and make the whole process feel simple. You’ll always know what’s happening, what’s next, and when it’ll be done.

And when the day wraps up, he’s back to chasing the best parts of the city, one run, ride, laugh, or local stop at a time. If you catch him mid-shift with a grin, it’s probably because he’s already got his next route, next brewery, or next punchline lined up for later.
